Project Description
The Challenge
Our customer had a great application for new piezo fan technology; however, without a prototype and the subsequent market validation, it was impossible to raise money—a real chicken or egg situation.
The Process
- Work with customer to refine product’s requirements to only those required for the MVP and the market validation experiment—and thus cutting a lot of development cost
- Using a combination of off-the-shelf components and FinishLinePDS reference design, create a plan that will meet the budget and the requirements for the production of MVP
- Design and build the MVP
The Solution
Power driver MVP for a piezo fan that would work over a very broad range of frequency and input voltage.
The Results
- FinishLinePDS was able to show the customer that an “impossible chicken or egg” problem could be solved by breaking the project into an MVP phase and pre-production prototype phase.
- Our customer successfully used the MVP for market validation and for raising a $5M seed round from a strategic investor.
